On July 15, as a new generation of LiuGong 9075F series hydraulic excavator slowly rolled off the production line, LiuGong Eastern R&D and Manufacturing Base ushered in another important milestone - the 100,000th excavator rolled off the production line.

From the first excavator rolled off the production line in Changzhou in 2010, to the 5,000th excavator rolled off the production line in 2014, to the 100,000th excavator rolled off the production line in Changzhou base, our original intention has been as firm as a rock and our steps have been firm.

The legend of LiuGong moving eastward to Changzhou

In 2012, facing the sluggish market in the engineering industry, LiuGong continued to increase product and capital investment in LiuGong Changzhou, and was committed to building LiuGong Changzhou into the "LiuGong Eastern R&D and Manufacturing Base". In 2014, bulldozers moved to Changzhou, in 2016 LiuGong mining machinery entered Changzhou, in 2020 the entire mini-machine product line moved to Changzhou, and on April 8, 2023, LiuGong East China Research Institute and LiuGong University East China Branch were officially unveiled. A series of measures have made LiuGong Changzhou shine like a pearl!

Intelligent manufacturing activates new driving force for development

As the bridgehead for LiuGong to implement the "comprehensive intelligence" strategy, LiuGong Changzhou Eastern Manufacturing Base has the equipment R&D capacity to produce 30,000 excavators per year. As early as 2015, LiuGong began lean transformation. In the critical period of industrial transformation and upgrading, LiuGong regards the construction of a lean production system as a good prescription to promote intelligent manufacturing and ignite the "new engine" of enterprise development. Multiple lean transformation projects have been completed and put into production, technical transformation and innovation projects are in full swing, and the level of automation, digitization and informatization has been greatly improved.

In August 2020, the second phase of LiuGong's Eastern Base project was fully launched, integrating LiuGong's Eastern regional product lines, focusing on the research and development and manufacturing of large-scale high-end mining excavators, bulldozers, mining trucks and other equipment, creating a comprehensive intelligent solution for mining operations, forming an annual production capacity of 3,000 large-scale engineering machinery and 4,000 mining machines, and committed to creating a super-large-scale industrial cluster.

In 2021, General Secretary Xi Jinping visited LiuGong and emphasized that high-quality development of the manufacturing industry is the top priority of my country's high-quality economic development. For high-quality development, innovation is very important. Only innovation can make us self-reliant and strive for the first place. LiuGong firmly grasps the main direction of intelligent manufacturing, relies on innovation to drive the transformation of new and old kinetic energy, and comprehensively speeds up the creation of smart factories. After fourteen years of development, Liugong's Eastern R&D and Manufacturing Base has become a smart factory in Jiangsu Province, a green factory in Jiangsu Province and a benchmark factory in the industry.

Going to the "new" and improving the "quality" of development

From the first generation of "pioneers" in 1992, to the sixth generation of "transcendors" in 2019, and then to the F series excavators upgraded at LiuGong's 5.28 Global Customer Festival this year, the launch of each generation of products is the result of a deep understanding of technological innovation and market demand. LiuGong Changzhou Base has a total of 604 valid authorized patents, including 162 inventions, 383 utility models, and 59 appearances; as of December 31, 2023, 140 patents were accepted, including 92 invention patents. LiuGong is cultivating and developing new quality productivity with scientific and technological innovation, and its steps are steady and fast.

The road ahead is long and hard, but we will start from the beginning! Looking to the future, Liugong Changzhou excavator will take the 100,000th excavator off the production line as an opportunity to adhere to long-term value and professionalism, and embark on a sustainable and innovative development path for the company, and achieve the next brilliant 100,000 units of leapfrog development. Obviously, for Liugong Changzhou Base, nothing is impossible in the future. A larger expansion blueprint has inadvertently unfolded.
