Overseas Media Hotly Discussed "Saudi Arabia Future City" and Praised XCMG!

August 02,2024

On July 25, AarbNews reported that the world's largest engineering project, the "Saudi Future City" NEOM New City project, which cost $500 billion, reached an important milestone: the underground parking lot and light rail system were completed. The report emphasized that this phased progress was accelerated and completed efficiently with the help of XCMG's 10 large-tonnage rotary drilling rigs.

Arab News reported:

The report "NEOM Completes Major Milestone: Underground Parking Lot and Light Rail System Completed" pointed out that the construction phase of the underground parking lot and light rail system in Saudi Arabia's $500 billion super city NEOM project was accelerated with the help of XCMG's 10 large-tonnage rotary drilling rigs.

The 10 XCMG large-tonnage rotary drilling rigs at the project site, including 4 XR500E, 2 XR600E, 2 XR320D and 2 XR400D drilling rigs, are used to construct pile foundations with a depth of 60 to 90 meters and a diameter of 2 to 2.5 meters.

Despite the complex geological conditions in the desert, XCMG rotary drilling rigs are still able to handle the project with ease, completing the construction of 3 piles on average every day, speeding up the construction of the project.

The press conference also pointed out that XCMG's XR600E is the largest tonnage drilling rig used in the NEOM project and the largest drilling rig exported by China. Although it arrived one month later than other equipment, it completed the task two weeks ahead of schedule, which fully demonstrated the efficiency and reliability of XCMG's equipment.

"Saudi Future City" project renderings

This time, not only did Arab News mention XCMG, but also nearly 800 overseas media such as AP NEWS and Yahoo! Finance spoke highly of XCMG's outstanding performance in "Saudi Future City".

It is reported that the new future city consists of four main planning areas, namely The Line, Sindalah, Trojena and Oxagon. The first tourist area is also expected to open to tourists in 2024. 95% of the area in the new future city will be designated as a nature reserve.
