On July 24, with the cutterhead of the ultra-large diameter tunnel boring machine "Shanhe" with a diameter of 17.5 meters successfully lowered into the well, the assembly work of the tunnel boring machine of Jinan Huanggang Road Crossing the Yellow River Tunnel, which was invested and constructed by Jinan Urban Construction Group, constructed by China Railway 14th Bureau Group, and professionally subcontracted and generally contracted by Beijing Yian Hoisting Engineering Co., Ltd., has been basically completed and is about to enter the debugging stage. The start of the world's largest diameter underwater shield tunnel has entered the "countdown".

It is reported that the "Shanhe" shield machine is the world's largest diameter slurry balance shield machine under construction, with a total length of 163 meters and a weight of 5,200 tons. The shield machine cutterhead is assembled from a central block and four side blocks, which is the most critical hoisting operation process in the hoisting and assembly process of this shield machine.

The hoisting and assembly process of the "Shanhe" super-large diameter shield machine is undertaken by Sany SCC12000TM and SCC4000A-2 crawler cranes. On the morning of the same day, the "Shanhe" shield machine cutterhead painted with the auspicious beast Qilin pattern slowly "stood" from the ground with the cooperation of two crawler cranes, and after completing the "air rotation", it accurately descended to the predetermined position of the starting shaft and accurately "merged" with the shield machine.

The assembly of the "Shanhe" shield machine has reached the world's advanced level. It is equipped with advanced equipment such as a pressurized composite cutterhead, a telescopic main drive, and a telescopic camera for the excavation chamber. It is equipped with "five senses and one brain" intelligent equipment systems such as advanced geological prediction, stratum interface identification, gas environment monitoring, tool wear detection device, synchronous grouting detection, and auxiliary decision support system.

This is the 12th large-diameter shield machine hoisting completed by the 800+400 golden combination of Beijing Yian Hoisting Engineering Co., Ltd. this year. This year, the pair has successfully completed the hoisting tasks of shield machines for multiple projects such as "Tongyongyuanmeng", "Linghang", "Dinghai", and "Hongchuan", and has completed the hoisting and assembly processes of many super-large diameter shield machines.

The Jinan Huanggang Road Tunnel Project is one of the major north-south channels across the Yellow River.
